ABOUT
Chau Tran is a photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. Born in Hanoi, Vietnam (December 1995), she studied International Studies at Hanoi University and later Social Sciences in Göteborg, Sweden, as an exchange student. After returning to Hanoi in 2017, she delved into filmmaking and acting, drawing on her cross-cultural experiences to create work centered on cultural exchange, international relations, and humanity. Later, she moved to Vancouver, where she further refined her visual language through the Professional Photography program at Langara College.
Chau’s practice moves between photography and creative direction, collaborating with artists, designers, and individuals to build distinctive visual worlds. Her practice is drawn to the quiet, unseen parts of being human: the selves we reveal, the selves we keep hidden, and everything in between. Whether intimate or highly produced, her work begins with an idea and builds a world around it.
